About
Hany recently joined UHY United as a Partner in charge of the consulting services, where he brings more than 25 years of experience. Previously he was a Director with Ernst and Young for 17 years, and before that he worked with Arthur Andersen for over 5 years, serving local, regional and multinational organizations.
Hany graduated from the Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University, with a major in Accounting in 1995.
Hany is a member of the Egyptian Society for Accountants and Auditors, Member of the Egyptian Society for Taxation, Certified Public Accountant –CPA (USA).
Hany’s earlier career years were actively spent in managing, planning and supervising numerous audit engagements in various industries (i.e manufacturing, trading, investments, telecommunication, hospitality, construction, O&G, financial institutions, ..etc) that helped him in later years to shift to advisory services with a focus on Financial Consulting and Transaction Services.
He has attended several training courses related to Audit, Corporate Finance and Transaction Support in Egypt and abroad.
He has led numerous financial due diligences and assurance and securitization engagements in Egypt and several middle east countries (Libya, Syria and Saudi Arabia).
Experience
• Throughout his career (30+ years) he has advised multi-industry clients (including trading, manufacturing, construction, petroleum, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, banking, hospitality, and industries) on their statutory obligations, relevant legislation (including labor, social insurance and customs law) and currency control.
• He has performed and managed tax compliance reviews, advised on different forms of entity formalities specialized in Egyptian taxation, providing direct and indirect tax services including customs relevant exposure to the firm’s local business as well as foreign joint ventures operating in Egypt.
• Ahmed has also advised multi-national clients (including financial institutions, manufacturing, construction, petroleum, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, and trading business) on their local statutory tax obligations.
• He has also advised non- resident enterprises on relevant legislation (including the labor, social insurance and customs laws) and currency controls.
• He has performed and managed tax compliance reviews, advised on different forms of entity formations, and planned for individuals’ and corporate tax structures, and provided consulting services for clients’ human resource compensation and benefits, and assisted companies in structuring tax-efficient import and export of goods.
• Ahmed has been leading within his capacity close to 100+ due diligences, significantly involved in cross border tax matters, acquisition structuring and implementation.
• Ahmed maintain extensive experience in advising the Firm’s local and global clients in structuring their tax affairs in Egypt. He has managed a number of successful projects warranting strategic tax planning and direction. He has significant experience in conducting negotiations with the Tax Authorities in disputes relating to income tax, corporation tax, social insurance, sales tax, stamp duty, etc. Besides tax, Ahmed also controls the regulatory service practice from Cairo. The regulatory services include advice on privatization issues, mergers and acquisitions, and litigation support services.
